Regarding the subsidy…Grrr. Okay, I didn’t know about the $99 thing. Thanks to my corporate discount I’m a bit below $99. However when I went to the AT&T store the rep there told me that because I brought my own 3G in January I shouldn’t have had to sign a contract….But because I DID sign a contract, I had to wait 18 months. So no subsidy for me. I live on this thing though so I can justify the upgrade.

I did try and check out the Pre. Best Buy only had a mock-up but I could tell right away that I didn’t like the keyboard and I’ve heard the reports of the iffy build quality. I also saw on Engadget’s review that the bottom lip was sharp enough to cut cheese. Lovely. I have a friend who has one and LOVES it. But, then again, he looooove Windows Mobile.
