Just moments ago, I found out that we are moving it to the Saturday before starting next year. The tradition may actually stay alive. :)

Both sides of my family are German, so my family gets togther for Fasnachts back in my grandparents hometown in northern Ohio. (I'm 4th generation, so no I don't speak any - heck I even hate sauerkraut!)

It used to be a tradition back in the olden times to meet and eat when the whole family lived in the same town, but it is hard to get back together from all over the country on a Tuesday (I'm not taking time off mid week to go 300 miles) They are hoping to keep the tradition alive and move it to the weekend in future years.
