Time to ramble!!

I’m happy to see multitasking. However, I’m THRILLED to see Game Center. As you guys said, ngmoco had Plus+ and there’s OpenFeint and I’m thinking…eesh how many accounts do I need for iPhone/Pad social services! I’m excited to see it under Apple’s banner and share achievements with friends.

OMG NEW MACBOOK PRO!!! It’s been a long wait. I bought the 13″ MBP as a hold-over until the 15’s came out and then stupidly sold it just before the iPad event thinking “they’ll announce the new 15’s soon.” That never happened. I did look at the new 13’s and sounds like you both like yours. The big sticking point for me is the glass screen. I can’t go back to having to slap an anti-glare surface on my screen. That and living at 1280 resolution was a little rough as it’s my primary machine. I have to say, though, the performance and the speaker volume on the 13″ MBP is excellent!

So, yeah, I put in an order for the 15″ w/ the anti-glare screen. I first called Delaware and KoP and neither were going to have it that day and I realized…look I’m old and grumpy and don’t feel like rushing out to the store and dealing with busy stores and salesy people trying to get me to re-up my MobileMe and AppleCare and whatnot. I am excited, though! I just ordered a new Speck hard shell for it. 🙂

Oh, re the 13″, I read that the reason we’re not seeing Core i3/i5s on the new model is that there’s a licensing issue with Nvidia producing shared-memory video chips with the new processor so Apple was kind of between a rock and a hard place on that one. I assume you guys read the Arstechnica piece on how Apple is implementing the video switching? It sounds really slick after hearing how they described how Optimus worked on Windows.

Re Opera…Meh. It sounds like it’s faster on EDGE but I read that the font rendering wasn’t great, zoom and scrolling was kinda wonky. The tab thing is neat, otherwise no real point.
