Hey Most Enlightened Gomos!

It’s been a while since I commented, so forgive my catch up post. In regards to Episode # 560, I’m in agreement with Chuti on there being some very hawt and bearish Olympic atheletes to feast one’s eyes on. I’ve discovered I have an interest in shot-put! This guy, Christian Cantwell is particularly drool-worthy:

In regards to Episode # 561 and Mountain Lion issues, when I upgraded my Mac mini I discovered one annoyance. It no longer supported the 1024×768 (stretched) resolution that worked perfectly with my 40″ Sony TV (I have a media Mac/couchtop setup). It defaulted to a 1080 resolution that made all my menus and icons too tiny to see from the couch. I had to muck around and find another resolution that only works right with the overscan option turned on. Then my next annoyance is DVD Player and iTunes play back SD video in a box in the center of my screen while in full screen mode! They used to stretch to widescreen, now I have to use a setting on my TV to get them in full widescreen. It all still works, but not as elegantly as it did, and adds extra steps to my viewing.

Lastly in Episode # 562 Peter asked about iMessage delivery issues. I personally only have noted a problem when I was on particularly weak cellular data connections. Even in these instances it has told me in Messages that the message in question was not delivered, and gave me the red explaination point that allows me to try again.

As far as iMacs without DVD drives, I have no doubt Apple will do that. Look at the current Mac mini’s, you have to use an external DVD drive with them. It could be argued that they are the desktop Mac that should retain the internal DVD if any are to do so since so many people use them as media Macs. When Apple released them without that drive, they made the external MacBook Air Super Drive compatible with them at the same time. IMacs are sure to follow. Maybe Mac Pros too, but there I would assume an internal DVD drive could be a BTO option.
