My goodness gomos!

So much distress over the new MacBook Pros. Yes the new USB-C/Thunderbolt ports are annoying, but they are the future. Apple’s way is best, rip the band-aid off, get it over with. Next year, everything will be USB-C. SD cards are only one of many types in use now, why were they ever favored? I had a camera with SD, but it could also transfer via a USB cable. Hell, I’ve got a USB multi-card reader somewhere around here that will read any type of card and cost about $5.

Like Chuti, I too have several excess adapters left over from previous Mac purchases. Some have never been opened. This is wasteful, and not very green. I personally think it is better to choose the adapters one needs.

While many people are disappointed about the new MacBook Pro, Apple seems to be planning to sell a lot of them:

I was a little disappointed about there not being an announcement about new Mac minis this fall. However, I’ve been thinking about it and the 2014 models currently on sale are really good machines. I can get a Core i7, 16 GB of RAM, and a 2TB Fusion Drive BTO version that will be a nice replacement for my Early 2009 Mac mini. Intel hasn’t made huge leaps in the last two years that make me need to keep waiting. It’s good enough, and will no doubt last me as long as my 2009 model did.

I ended my abusive relationship with Windows in 2002. So I am not looking back that direction so long as Apple builds Macs.

So, to your point about iPads replacing laptops, this has absolutely been my experience since getting my 12.9″ iPad Pro. I still have an old 2010 MacBook Pro laptop sitting around, but I rarely use it. I see my future being almost entirely iOS-based. Still need the Mac mini as a “digital hub” now days but maybe in the future I can live in the iCloud?

We’ll see what happens, but I think it will all work out.
